From Talking Change to NHS Talking Therapies Portsmouth. The primary care mental health service for Portsmouth.
You’re not alone
Sharing how we feel can be difficult. Sometimes we might think we’re the only one struggling, but mental health affects us all. If you’re going through a hard time, we want you to know that you’re not alone and good support is now available.
We’re here to help
We’re a team of therapists and researchers. We specialise in the understanding and treatment of common mental health difficulties. Our service to you is free and confidential.
Talking therapies
If you’re struggling with low mood or anxiety, or with a physical condition such as chronic pain or fatigue, we provide talking therapies to help you cope and feel better.
What to expect
Once we receive your referral, we’ll contact you within five working days to arrange an assessment. At the end of the assessment, we’ll develop a tailored care plan for you and suggest the best options.
Our workshops
We are regularly creating free workshops to help support you with a number of different problems. Our workshops are currently being delivered via Zoom to keep you and out staff safe. These workshops are one off events that offer skills and tools to self-manage and cope better. All you need to do is register and fill out a short form.
Help me sleep
We are currently working on a programme that focuses on insomnia and the different ways in which therapy can help. A few of our therapists are trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi) and can help people suffering.
However, if you aren’t suffering with insomnia and would simply like to be able to sleep a little bit better, we do also have some tips on how to help with this. Click the button below to find out more on how to sleep a little bit better.
Make the first step
We know the courage it takes to ask for help, and we hope you’ll consider therapy with us. Read more about what to expect if you refer.
Talking Therapies Portsmouth is for everyone aged sixteen or over, who live in Portsmouth and are registered with a GP in the city.
You can self-refer by calling us on 0300 123 3934 or by completing this secure form online.
*Please note that we will be able to offer you an appointment within 40 days. The more flexible you are with times and dates that you are able to attend appointments, the quicker you will be seen.
Urgent help
Talking Therapies Portsmouth is not an emergency mental health service for people in crisis. Support is available from specialist services if urgent help is needed.
