Counselling
Sometimes the term "counselling" is used to refer to talking therapies in general, but counselling is also a type of therapy in its own right. The approach we provide is person-centred counselling.
How it works
Person-centred counselling is based on the view that everyone has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change, given the right conditions.
The aim of the therapy is to help you get in touch with your feelings, to express these, make sense of them and develop new ways of looking at yourself and the world around you.
The therapy helps you to explore and utilise your own strengths and personal identity. We also help you come to terms with any difficult feelings and to develop in your own way. We support you through this journey.
What it’s like
The non-direct style of person-centred counselling is thought to be more beneficial to those who have an intention to explore themselves and their feelings, and for those who want to address specific patterns of thinking.
We focus on how you feel and understanding your situation from your point of view. We are not here to tell you what to do but to help you to explore what you wish to talk about.
